Amina T. Harris is a seasoned nurse executive and academic leader with over 25 years of progressive experience in healthcare administration, nursing leadership, and nursing education. With a career that began as a Certified Nursing Assistant and advanced to executive-level leadership, she brings both frontline insight and strategic expertise to healthcare systems and academic institutions.

Currently serving as Assistant Dean of Nursing, Amina provides academic and administrative oversight for the Practical Nursing program. She leads faculty development, ensures compliance with state and accrediting standards, monitors student success outcomes, and drives NCLEX-PN readiness initiatives with a focus on measurable performance benchmarks. Her leadership emphasizes accountability, regulatory compliance, and student achievement.

Prior to her academic role, Amina served as Director of Nursing, where she achieved and sustained CMS 5-Star rankings for over four consecutive years and led initiatives that reduced hospital readmissions, improved patient satisfaction metrics, and maintained zero-deficiency Department of Health surveys. Her executive leadership contributed to enhanced operational efficiency, strengthened hospital partnerships, and expanded specialty clinical programs.

Amina holds a Master of Science in Nursing and a Master of Business Administration, blending clinical expertise with operational and financial acumen. She is also a volunteer Peer Reviewer for the Accreditation Council for Cooperative Education (ACCE), where she evaluates nursing and allied health programs for accreditation compliance and quality advancement.
